I meant more generally col69, why are authorities comfortable with RCT's where the control group dies? Single armed studies are not such an evil prospect. They just need to be well designed and show clear efficacy. It was more a passing thought for all those people who dies on trials in placebo groups.

This whole COIVD-19 episode has highlighted again how people use statistics for their own benefit. We have over 1 million dead and the idiots still cant report reliable fatality statistics (i.e. we shouldn't need a placebo cohort). Anyway just a passing thought of people uneccessarily dying. Back to trying to make money...
