But there are some barriers to trial participation -

- You would need to be in the right hospital
- You would need to meet all of the inclusion criteria and none of the exclusion criteria
- You would need to be approached by the right people to discuss potential trial participation (hopefully you're lucid enough to understand)
- You would need to meet the trial's strict criteria and time frames (blood results etc may take some time to come back to determine eligibility)
- You would need to physically consent to trial participation (may not be able to talk if ventilated)
- If you're unable to consent, next of kin may be able to agree (must get to the hospital to sign for patient; not allowed in the COVID wards to efficiently communicate with the patient's wishes etc).

All of the above while your body's fighting for life.
