The 7:30 report tonight had a segment on problems with Pfizer's smoking cessation drug and related suicides. There is to be a coroner's enquiry soon on the matter and it was reported that there was a recent settlement of a class action in the USA for a reported $300M. There would be significant legal costs above that. This is the major drug in a market worth over US$2B market. It looks like its days are numbered and there will be a real hole in the market. With our results due this month, we are in pole position for a great deal!
