Today is the last day on the Elders long range forecast for Perth that has a "High" degree of chance of rainfall this entire month.

This is not surprising August is almost always significantly drier than July

This can change of course but the trend from Winter to spring is drying (less rain) and long term trend for the south west for many years has also been diminishing rainfall. Last months high rain was an exception for WA, unfortunately for us.

Things can always change for better or worse but north of Perth gets much less rainfall again that Perth and less further from the coast as a rule.

Moving trough August I hope to see an extended period of mostly dry or almost dry weather heading out to Calingiri East, ideally mostly sunny and windy doesn't hurt either for drying.

As others have said it takes as long as it takes to dry to drill ready levels but the weather after todays very quick moving sporadic showers seems very much on the improve.
