Interesting week ahead for the DD1 and MM with the projected path of cyclone Marcus set to travel south offshore the WA coast over the next week. By Friday it will be offshore between Exmouth and Carnarvon. Wonder if they will slow right down until it passes or move north to skirt round it. See Windfinder.com website for the forecast.
While I'm at it: In the 24 hrs to 1940 hrs Saturday, my calculations: C overed 116 nm at an average of 4.8 kn. So, down a bit on overall average and have a direct route of 1558 nm to go. It appears they have altered course slightly northward as they were at 23:44:44 on the 15th and are now at 23:31:25 on checking a few moments ago.
Meanwhile, The M/Mariner has been doing some work for the Greater Enfield development (Woodside) along with the Maersk Logger. Looks like theyve been attending on the subsea pipe layer.
All we need really, more potential delay because of a cyclone. Better safe than sorry though.Cheers.
