Given the current trashing of Mylan by Clinton, the market and the press, it would be very much in the interest of their management to resolve their legal issues promptly. Their reputation is at rock bottom.
If their share price drops much further another attempt to take them over may well be on the cards.
Settlement is logical.
Damages and penalties could be minimised as public sentiment is quite hostile.
