Scientists don’t stand on a special pedestal. There are fraudulent scientists, just as there are corrupt police, pedophile priests and teachers, children who rip off their parents, parents who kill their children, doctors and nurses who murder their patients, bible-clutching politicians who cheat on their wives etc. etc...

That's life. Sure, that’s a downer, but life is what it is, people are what they are and if you try to hard to understand the “whys” of either you can send yourself mad.

We don’t know why. We may never know why. I think we have to learn to accept that and move on...
