Phosphagenics have taken 500 chickens (rounded down to a nice round number).

500 birds in total subjected to four various levels, so that would mean assuming same sized lots, 125 birds per level.

125 birds at 0 ppm Vitamin E ("Base Feed - No Vitamin E")
125 birds at 20 ppm Vitamin E ("Standard Vitamin E Feed")
125 birds at 100 ppm Vitamin E ("High Dose Vitamin E Feed")
125 birds at 5 various dose levels of TPM ("Multiple TPM Enhanced Feed")

Assuming that the last group split into 5 levels are also split to equal sized lots so there 25 birds in each level test (NB we are not told what the various test levels of TPM were used except one was 10%, I will call the levels A B C D E). So that would mean:

25 birds - level A TPM
25 birds - level B TPM
25 birds - level C TPM
25 birds - level D TPM
25 birds - level E TPM

So am I reading this right?

375 birds were tested on no TPM with 125 tested with no Vitamin E either.

At its best, the TPM @ 10 ppm Enhanced Feed delivered 2% improvement over the Standard Vitamin E Feed and 1% over the High Dose Vitamin E Feed.

Okay I understand that the TPM appears to more effective than Vitamin E alone but is it more cost effective? What will it mean to the farmer who has to buy the feed. What will make them purchase TPM enhanced feed over Vitamin E feed?

Is the increase commercial enough?

I would have liked them to try many various formulations with vitamins and minerals to have a whole picture of what TPM could improve things by.
