Seems so simple but so many get it wrong. sub-$100 batteries will only be achieved by working smarter. Shipping cobalt from the DRC to China to be process, Sending Lithium from Australia and South America to China to be process and then both sent on to cathode makers and batter makers in S. Korea, Japan and the US and finally assembled elsewhere is madness. If you place all of those technologies in one tight 100 Km region you could have sub-$100 batteries right now even without any of the fancy advancements. Detroit knew this back in the day and that is what pretty much every piece of a car was manufactured in close proximity to the assembly plant... today we are chasing everything around the world - WHY?
I am a STRONG believer in the Quebec battery hub and know this is the right way to achieve low-cost batteries.
