'Chasing around the world.....' - looking only at the initial cost per unit. The overall picture involves more than just an initial cost. Farm to table concepts and using local seasonal produce in food preparation - goes a long way to a better meal. Off topic? Maybe. I would argue not, since those kinds of concepts can be applied to pretty much anything - even battery making. If applied, would go a long way to minimize trade wars and the heavy reliance on others.

Sounds simple but simple is perhaps a whole lot less complicated and easier to manage than our more than ever interweaved globalized system and the reliance on such.

It'll take time and a whole lot of funds to develop the hollistic approach in Quebec for battery making and I for one applaud these well thought out steps. Only now I am beginning to appreciate why perhaps this whole process with SYA is taking so long to finalize - you don't want to rush in and stuff something up with so many different moving parts.
