My post was NOTHING to do with petrol (or the oiler rubbish that dogwhistles in these threads). It was a metaphor about the purpose of the $$ that CATL are (probably) putting in.
That money for CATL is not necessarily an "investment" to make them a profit, but for a different purpose. It is a "down-payment" to get into the living room at Number 1 Supply Street, SpodTown.
CATL want to get to point B. And to get to point B they need the car that is PLS. So they are increasing the probabilities of that car being able to make that journey for them.
Hope that clears that up a little.
