Unfortunately there's an error in the Pasboz statement. It says lithium content in glass and/or ceramics is valuable because of its high coefficient of thermal expansion. In fact the very opposite is true. One of lithium's most desirable attributes is the ability to counteract the high expansion of strong fluxes such as sodium oxide in ceramic glazes and glasses. In fact lithium behaviour can be controlled to develop negative thermal expansion. I know this from some decades of use of lithium compounds in ceramic glazes.
If you'd like some independent evidence try here. I'm hoping we (as I'm a keen PLS holder) can be a significant supplier to Schott.
