From what I understand, the proposed P1 site requires 36,000 sq metres, almost 9 acres or 1 and a half times the size of the MCG....
If residue becomes a viable byproduct, P1's site area would be slashed considerably, no need for storage facilities or Gov and Councils Tight waste storage regulations.
Sudbury, once a heavily polluted mining and industrial city is turning Green. Community protests just last week shut down Noront Resources planned Ferrochrome Smelter in fear of residue contaminating water supplies.
Guaranteed, Sudburys Ministry of Northern Development and Mines will be watching for our PP residue results. If we not only have a residue byproduct that can lift soil PH levels, turning Sudburys moonscaped abandon mine sites into green forests, Sudburians will I'm sure be most welcoming!
