Worked on both sides of the industry - not quite at the low end of payday lending but as a specialist in collecting written off bad debts and I did not see too much difference in either collection difficulty or the degree of difficulty in assessing the impairments - particularly when recessions were occurring or huge layoffs were taking place. Modelling did not work very well in either situation. But as I said who am I to judge?
