Not sure you can read that much into it. They've gone from reporting both methods & one being the primary method, to reporting both methods with the other being the primary method. Neither of which makes a material change.

The whole thing was an unnecessary storm in a teacup poorly handled by all parties involved.

The auditor should have flagged the issue earlier so that it could have been resolved before the interim accounts & the mngt should have come out & said that it made no material difference from the start (or suspended the share until they could have confirmed as such).. Not to mention the money wasted on the high priced legal mouthpiece!

If PNC manage to deliver the FY forecast it will be a credit to the employees & lower tier manage to continue to deliver while the senior mngt were distracted.

As for any potential bidders the issue couldn't have been a concern from the start otherwise they've wouldn't have even started the process. I suspect they're waiting until the FY results (unaudited) to come in before making a final decision & expect to hear something by mid July at the latest one way or the other.
