My read is that if Carlyle felt that they had a strong case, they'd seek a wind-up immediately. The interest has to be paid for the period through September so it would make sense for them to force an action to receive their funds earlier and interest for the full period.
It's cute that Carlyle are demanding to know who is in the data room. The simplest reason would be to make sure that the parties are credible alternatives to ensure that PNC can re-finance. It could also be to flush Carlyle out as still interested in the business.
