Totally understand what your saying RT, after years of steadily building the company, at the moment they are able to reap the rewards they are making the wrong choices. Almost seems they are anxious to transform from exploration to mining company and need help by forming JV's.
Maybe in a couple of months time all this turned out to be part of a greater plan, but for now as a new investor I would choose to buy RXL instead of VMC.
Let's see if the newly placed shares will be sold for a cent or two profit or if these sophs are the happy few to get some cheap shares before VMC really transforms...
