My understanding is we'd only need to complete some USA tax forms in the event AVR(USA) was going to pay a dividend etc (highly unlikely) as we would have to declare as non-US residents for tax purposes. USA will still take their cut and we would have to include a Foreign tax offset in our AU tax filing. It is not a big deal, my accountant has not been fazed by this on the rare occasions in the past. Someone who is a holder of NEM, a CDI of Newmont listed on ASX and likely pays a dividend would be able to provide more clarity i expect (if any are also punters on ASX Biotech which is probably unlikely...) . In short, i don't think Aussie Retail shareholders need to be unduly concerned..
