Looking back, it seems like the extra wafers were compensation payment. But they did confirm the cells are effin awesome. Also indicates they knew there was a problem before the 23 NPL wafers were begun.
The whole messaging of "working really closely with imec through PL3" reads of constant testing through the process, and I'd be amazed if all imec did was basic functional testing. 4DS is paying for THE state-of-the-art development facility for a reason.
Looking very different this time.
