I see these guys as trying to position themselves as a Steam like platform on mobile devices.
Would that be a fair comparison? So dollars to come from selling the games on the platform mainly...
I don't see a lot of room for advertising on the platform (other than by game designer companies) in that case. As nothing will turn off punters more than too many ad banners.
But Valve, the company operating Steam are worth about $3 billion or so.
Also trying to get my head around this - appreciate your post.
