There is a good chance the money came direct from the dev's - the dev's responsibility maybe was just to supply the NFT's and the associated process and that is what they have done, at their cost - although indirectly relative to PLY not directly - so maybe getting around the ASIC requirements .... as PLY can't have anything directly to do with the NFT's is my understanding under ASIC rules?
Just all IMO.
