They didn't "pull" money from the JV. They still retain their holding in the JV (SYAQ). They've just sold their holding in their partner's parent company (SYA). Those shares are no different to any other holder's shares. Money changing hands from buyer to seller, just like if I sold you my shares, It doesn't affect the cash position of the JV in any way.
