Thanks for your response, I haven't done enough research to really comment on whether the comparison was reasonable and your insight was helpful.
My remark was really an after thought as the main reason for the post was I was curious as to the market cap of the company after reading the posts above. The slide shows 412.9M shares on issue giving a market cap of $260M at 63c.
And to answer your question, given all the goldie stocks performance at present, doubling the shares to gain $210M in cash doesn't seem such a bad move. Granted the picture was different when the merger was broached.
