here is a link about option writing. the normal amount of shares you need before you can write one covered call contract is 1000 shares. i think because sto did a capital raising so time ago the contract size at present is 1061 shares.
check with our broker, you will need to fill out a contract with your broker before you can sell or buy options.
after you pick up some experience, you can become a level 4 options trader (sell naked calls and puts ect).
i think when the pro posts about sto being a good stock to write calls over, is because when the share price trends sideways, you have time decay working in your favour.
