Although I cannot give the answer for Rockchipper here, Iwill give you my opinion on your question above: DEFINITELY YES !
Sorry to say this, my buy of some BCN shares in april 2020 didn't met my expectations.
I took this one for my main intension of sp increases. Whatdid BCN so far ? Nothing !
So have a look at the 5 year chart. If you bought in 2016, you would be very happy. If you bought after the spike in 2017, you would also be happy, but you had to wait roughlytwo and a half years to be so. The peak in April 2020 prompted me to get in here, momentum wise. How long have we to wait until the next leg up ? I don't know it either.
The only thing i know, BCN didn't metmy expectations !
Maybe she will do so after another two years wait. In the meantime we all could hope for some dividends come in to play.
So if you look for some dividends and a relativ stable sp, you might be righthere. I worked for over 3 decades at asset management of an insurance company and as Rockchipper said, fund managers would not invest here, imho.
If you are a wealthy retail investor, you could consider parking somemoney in hopeful stable shares with decent dividends (say for example GRR or JMS) instead of paying negative interest to banks, like those companies, who do park big amounts at banks.
That means, you have to pay for onlyparking the money there !
So conclusion for me, BCN would likely become a dividend play as GRR for those long years I own some shares there. My intenson is not to crosspromote, but what happened with the other one (majorityowned by chinese to support their supply chain) for dividends, this could be another dividend play for me. Not my intension on investing, but I accept it, if the other way don't work.
