It’s tough, of course it would have been nice to come away with a Ni-sulfide hit…but the way I see it is we have come away with a far more probable and less desired, BUT not a bad outcome and in many ways still encouraging.

In the absence of a new discovery, then it could’ve gone a couple of ways
1) All conductors are explained by sediments or non-nickel sulfide and the geological targets are all downgraded by what they see in the core.
Or
2) The electrical conductors are not adequately explained but they drill the right rocks with the right sulfide minerals.

If it had of been the first scenario, then.... stalemate.
So, its in between, a couple of targets have been explained which is important as it provides general confidence in the EM system. With half of the holes intersecting trace to disseminated sulfides (including pentlandite) towards the base of ultramafic flows AND with several yet to be explained EM conductors …basically they have added to the existing ‘Ni-smoke’

The host stratigraphy and the style of mineralisation they are targeting is notoriously challenging for electrical geophysical methods, and further complicated by the conductive overburden of being on a salt lake….keep in mind one of the explained targets was land-based.
So, imo yes..it is a very real possibility that the downhole EM surveys could highlight any near-miss conductors and when you add the geology context then this is encouraging.

Take SPBD0370 as an example, 12m of fine disseminated sulfide on the ultramafic basal contact surrounded by Basalt and nothing close-by (at least on section) to explain the original conductor....
