I'm an expert in the subject matter and work in the sand mining industry. The problem I'm talking about doesn't start at the plant, it starts in the mine itself. The level of oversize they have reported indicates potential presence of rock probably in the form of calcrete. You gotta remember, an aircore drill does a degree of pulverising so it generally under reports what you'll see in the mine. Garnet is a low value heavy mineral. It won't sustain high mining costs. A trommel also won't handle rock over 300-400mm without being at risk of damage.
