As there is not much more to talk about while we await the MRE some of you might be interested to know how much time and energy the Academic community have been putting to the fund of knowledge HGO has about the Geology which is of course another few gem stones in the treasure chest.

"Continuous spectral analysis of selected drill core from various mineralised zones at Kanmantoo was completed recently by the Geological Survey of South Australia in collaboration with Hillgrove Resources to map mineralogy and mineral associations. The results have been used to assist with interpreting proximity to mineralisation. This article provides an overview of the project and findings. The approach may be useful in assessing the potential for further mineralisation within known ore systems at Kanmantoo and offers a means of acquiring high data density for evaluating patterns of hydrothermal activity identified in exploration drill samples from other copper targets in the district."

"Analysis of monazite trace elements identifies the Kanmantoo Cu-Au deposit as a syn- to post-peak metamorphic hydrothermal anomaly, which combined with the presence of felsic veins indicate that mineralisation resulted partly from fluids generated by a pluton at depth. These findings broadly confirm the prospectivity of Delamerian affected terranes throughout large parts of South Eastern Australia where pervasive intrusive geology exists."
