"Do you know what the phrase 'Economic gold mineralisation closed off to north' in the Portia 'Oblique Laser Scan View' means? Does it mean they have drilled it and found nothing?"
Ilan,
Looks like North Portia will be a separate pit to the one at Portia.
For now, we have a definitive answer to your question above. Please see the front page from the Monday 4 September 2017 edition of the Barrier Daily Truth below:
The above will only give you access to page 1 of the article. For $1.99 (i.e. less than a cup of coffee) you can get your own download (like I did) of the 4 September 2017 edition of the Barrier Daily Truth to read at:

"Havilah had initially thought it might have been able to mine through to North Portia, which is only a couple of hundred metres from Portia, but Dr Giles said that was not feasible.
'We've done quite a lot of drilling since and it doesn't quite join up. There's bits of mineralisation but not enough to justify (extending Portia).
So North Portia will be a different pit but that's not all bad because it means the Portia open pit will be available to put some of the sulphide waste material and tailings in'."
I did say previously that at some point before CMC reaches the North Portia ore body, the Saprolite gold resource envelope that appears at the Portia gold mine may 'disappear'. This is because there is a fault zone running through this side of North Portia, which has altered the geology of the ground to commingle the Saprolite gold through the copper ore body at North Portia.
North Portia currently contains an Indicated + Inferred JORC Resource of 11.3 million tonnes of 0.89% Cu, 0.64 g/t Au and 500 ppm Mo for a total contained 101,000 tonnes of copper, 234,000 ounces of gold and 5.68 million kg of molybdenum.
Cheers
