Natural Graphite is a commodity used in diversified applications in industry. The biggest growth areas most investors mention include EV anode application, & heat insulation foils, fire retardant materials. POSCO is happy to use the large volume of graphite waste material from anode material manufacturing to make graphite rods for their electric arc furnaces to produce low CO2 emission steel. It is a win-win deal for both BKT & POSCO if things work out well.
Other commodities such as copper, nickel & fuel / crude oil are down due to a low point in the economic cycle (i.e. low demand). Commodities, including graphite, shall be one of the 1st areas in economy to recover. Just don't ask about timing because most investors never can "time the market" well / or make investments in the right place at the right time.
