Toro - until drilling demonstrates a reasonable chance of defining a resource (good continuity of payable grades, a few hundred thousand ounces as a minimum and potential that it might actually be mined profitably) it is mostly speculation. The share price will probably (might) spike if they follow up the rock chip sampling with good drilling results. There is no way of realistically predicting what the share might do. If a small company (market cap <$10M) drills a good intersection the effect on the share price will be very different than that of a larger company drilling the same hole.

You should heed @SuperWealthy words: "rock chips are always misleading" as high grade rock chip results are quite common due to geologists selectively selecting and chipping off bits that are clearly mineralised (or potentially mineralized).

If you plan on investing or speculating in mining / exploration companies it may be of benefit to read up on the basics the exploration process. It is evident on Hotcopper that there are a large number of people who dabble in these shares without even a basic understanding of the industry. Expanding your knowledge may save you lots of money and tears if it helps in distinguishing between credible exploration results and mere "spruiking".

    Good Luck!
