If my memory serves me correctly, FightMND asked PharmAust to submit an application for them to then reject the application seems strange.
Most of the patients, 9 out of the 10 being treated under the Extension trial being done by Calvary Health under Susan Mathers, who it appears to have a great working relationship with FightMND one would think that this would have meant PAA had a shoe in to gain the grant.
