years back when Lucapa did their aerial magnetic surveys they boasted about discovering 60+ targets. I knew right then that that was a disaster, not because they'd found targets but that there were so many. My reading of the big diamond mines was that they tended to be based around single large geological structures.
The geology of the area Lucapa is mining has no stand out Kimberlite structure, it's a disseminated field of scattered small pipes. Sure there will be the retrieval of the odd world class stone but nothing resembling a significant producing diamond mine.
History has bourn out my theory - shoot it down as you please...
