thanks to our international "obligations" --which none of us were ever asked about but we were committed to anyway by our pollies and UN gravy-trainers--we can't take away the right to judicial review of those who land on our shores. Hence the "offshore solution" of Nauru etc. This is a fine point that doesn't get publcised very much or very clearly. judicial review means that often its tied up for years in courts, costing the taxpayer millions and making it a feast for lawyers. After this killing of the asylum law, if even one refugee drowns in making the crossing then people like Georgiou will have blood on their hands.
