If memory serves mp have been asked politely to exit the off take when it expires and not renew, they also have a refining facility in plans. Easy enough to stand up and fund the means to reduce reliance on Chinese REE manufacturing, also there is a lot of waste to get rid off in China.
MP is a good example that the first to market may not always be the most successful. When some of wider productivity comes online its likley there will be second generation technology to better treat waste or not produce as much of it…. Some of that research ARR is involved with.
