This is a very clear benefit above Chemo alone, comparable with the OS benefit of Herceptin but without the toxicity/side effects. Also cheaper and far easier to administer, with the added benefit of immune memory.
These were all very seriously unwell terminal patients, heavily pre-treated and likely to have pretty damaged immune systems. To get an increase in median survival of +5.6 months is a truly excellent result under those circumstances - and at a dose level which was only half that of the level now approved. We can have the usual disagreements here over statistical reliability, given the small sample size, but the follow up combo studies will put that to rest.
In my view, Her-vaxx remains a hot prospect for a commercial deal.
