I think in reality they have been walking a fine line knowing funds are needed soon and also knowing that the release if any negative or even neutral news would not help that cause. Hence the release of this news at what is a very critical time after they have announced in 4c cash will be raised soon.
From my point of view it seems the takeaway from this is does it really matter what it doesn't work on as long as we find some critical applications it does work with. I'm sure it is a very fluid journey using something only tested on animals and now dabbling in human trial efficacy. What they thought it might work with may be very different to what it actually ends up being critical in treating?.
From what i saw anything that treats flesh eating bacteria without (i assume) doctors having to cross match bacteria with suitable non resistant drugs is a massive breakthrough. Seems this is now a target as well as non burn infected wounds? The important thing is it has a use and could be critical now
