So back to the Gel result, an indication of how the company might have presented results from its trial in another (according to many posters on here) dumb Australian company trying to improve DFU outcomes:
Again, whilst ending up arguing with a lot of naysayers on here, I did originally agree the RCE data release on this was simplistic at best and should have included Lipsky composites at least. Perhaps we will get some clarification there still....
This study does show, contrary to some of the frankly ignorant early comments above that there (most of these results from Perth trial sites) that there is plenty of room for improvement in DFU outcomes and it not just laziness, poor standards of care and education/intelligence of some patients, as exhibited by the differences to the control group, and the venture both a valid clinical and commercial one by RCE, contrary to some silly comments above.
Obviously we can't infer too much from what little data we have from RCE, but given the timescales and looking at the control SOC cohort, just how long wounds take to properly begin to resolve after anti-biotics in the control group and how quickly improvement clearly seen in R327 gel on comparative times scales.
