Not hypocrisy at all. CAA have always disclosed they buy a limited amount of overseas Al. I’d be thinking they now do so as to be competitive at the distribution level in cases where price is the absolute clincher. If you check carefully you will see that the anti dumping is country specific and not necessarily across the board.
as an Australian, an island nation, smack bang in the middle of a very contentious area where USA & China are likely to have a military stoush, I’d think it very prudent we have an independent source of vital materials like Al and steel etc.
