In the company announcement of the Medterra deal, it was indicated that Medterra is using the same CBD softgel capsule that AVE is using in its clinical insomnia program but for the treatment of arthritis.

AVE’s softgel capsules are being manufactured by Catalent in the United States using TPM manufactured here by AVE. Therefore, it would seem logical that Medterra’s capsules would also be manufactured by Catalent with AVE just needing to ship the required TPM. I think that shipping TPM across borders would also be easier than shipping a cannabis product.

Which leaves the question of IDT’s role. As well as manufacturing oral and sterile injectable dosage forms, IDT has the capability to manufacture cGMP compliant dermal cannabinoid products on request. There are not many manufacturers who offer that service. So my guess is that IDT has been responsible for the manufacture of AVE’s CBD topical gel.
