Only one of the baselines wasnt used. In this case the normal group showed an abnormally high adverse reading. So really if they had baselined, they would have results showing a higher response rate to the drug than it should have. So not baselining in this case was a conservative thing to do.
This is just a stage one of a two stage pre-clinical. This is only to help find the goldilocks formulation before starting Stage two of the pre-clinical. So with respect to that it would seem end points were sucessfully met.
