LWP Technologies names David Henson president

LWP Technologies has appointed non-executive director Dr. David Henson as president​

Oil and gas industry technology supplier LWP Technologies(ASX:LWP) has appointed non-executive director Dr. David Henson as president, with responsibility for U.S. operations and the Americas.

The appointment is effective immediately in a full time capacity.

Dr. Henson is a highly qualified chemical engineer with 20 years’ experience in both business development and commercialisation of products as well as project management and process engineering.

Most recently, he has been IHI’s project director for the US$3.8 billion Cove Point Liquefaction facility for Dominion Resources.

Previously, he held various executive positions for Siemens Oil and Gas (2009-2014), Choren Industries (2006-2009) as president of U.S. operations and prior to that in various project management roles with UHDE GMBH (1996-2006).

Dr. Henson is a resident of Houston, Texas and holds an honours degree and doctorate in chemical engineering from the University of Queensland.

LWP is focused on the multi-billion dollar global market for proppants - which are the single largest cost item in the fracking process.

Proppants are a sand-like commodity used to ‘prop’ open fractures in shale rocks which allows oil and gas to flow.

The company is seeking to commercialise its proppant as a cost effective, superior alternative to bauxite and clay based proppants, which are currently widely used in oil and gas wells.
