After watching & reading media reports in recent days on Mark Leibler of ABL solicitors, apart from my personal observation of him being a vile and evil human, the thing that strikes me is his deep & longstanding influence and power within business and government in this country - high ranking politicians, ministers and government departments.

I have no doubt that Laurence Freedman has been a long standing client and associate of his - I have no proof but I would be very surprised if he wasn't.
So if there is no justice delivered by AFP or ASIC investigations of Phoslock and its directors & officeholders, this may be one reason why.

I think someone else here some time ago mentioned the company Kalnorth Gold Mines Limited (formally Carrick Gold). KMG.
Both Freedman and Schuitema held directorships of this listed company from 2010 to 2013/14. (Freedman was Chairman)

It was a gold exploration and then short lived mining business that Freedman had invested in. It had existed on investor funding and loans to get it to the mining stage. Enter Freedman and his spruiking. It really is worth reading the company announcements during Freedmans reign. Deja Vu.

The gold price started going south and things weren't looking good, so a quick exit was made by Freedman & Schuitema.
But one thing they did while they were there was bring the Chinese in, in a big way.

In August 2020 the company was suspended from the ASX after the company replied to ASX queries about not having sufficient cash to continue operations. The company had basically stated that they were good at raising equity capital. They were immediately suspended.

Over the next year the company sold off all its mining assets for around $15mil net.
But it didn't bother applying to relist.
In August last year it was officially delisted.

The company still exists as a delisted company. It doesn't seem to do anything. It just sits on $15mil cash and is controlled by Chinese major shareholders and management.

That's my reading for the afternoon done.
