Odd, you can’t romanticise governments too much because they are only (super) human. But, you are absolutely correct. FAR has made Senegal into an oil state (may peace, God and Allah preserve them) and that is no small thing like footballs and trinkets.
Gambia chose accordingly. They looked at Senegal and said ‘how can we get some of that action?’ And that is likely to be the big payoff for FAR.
