Nope. There's clearly a lot of work gone into this, reviewing a huge body of data and trying to make sense of a really quite unique deposit.

As remarked by our CEO at the March Paydirt Battery Minerals Conference:

While Ni-Co-Sc deposits are rare, there are a few significant resources in Australia. The overprinting of rare earths, however, is extremely rare - to the point that we have not been able to find any reported occurrence of this globally. We certainly appear to be unique.

I think this is more a case of our geo team, Jordan and Ria, finally feeling comfortable enough with their analysis to more fully disclose the Company's potential hand.

Since the initial review of the historical data revealed significant REE mineralisation at Quicksilver, its source has been an intriguing question.

I'll be more than happy if the proposed interpretation - of a regional fault with a carbonatite magmatic signature that transects the nickel–cobalt resource - bears fruit.

Meanwhile, I note REE beneficiation potential (producing a concentrate without the need for hydrometallurgy) has been added to the Stage 3 metallurgical testwork.

So all that shallow, clay-hosted REE mineralisation encountered so far within the oxide zone, may yet contribute to the Quicksilver economics.
