The permanent glacial ice has just started to recede from big parts of coastal Greenland in the last few years making it more easily accessible for the first time. Also the place is bigger than NSW and VIC combined with a total (thats total) population of just over 50,000 people. Several thousand of whom live in mainland Denmark.

The economy in Greenland has gotten by on traditional practice of fishing and hunting though tourism via the boom in tourism in Iceland is now growing, pre covid anyway.

So they haven't needed mining or had the expertise to carry out much exploration themselves.

The international mining companies that have entered have mainly focused on easier stuff, known ground nearer to population centers on the West coast.

CNJ are pioneers in the area they are exploring in the vast under explored and unpopulated east coast. It is true Elephant country.
