I hear what you're saying and agree in some regards but its a complex issue. The regulatory guidelines in place that dictate what companies are required to report on need to be simplistic and well defined in nature to make compliance achievable and not overly exhaustive. To somehow expect companies to speculate on which standard operational activities could somehow be made known to the public and decide whether that information could then be perceived as price sensitive based on public speculation would be, I think, an unrealistic expectation. Crucially, it would also take some focus away from their primary objective which is to create shareholder value. IMHO
