Certainly one way of looking at it which I only vaguely considered. Probably many others.
I consider it a positive as my take of RM's comment (about his change of view on the project) was that he came to see it as viable even though at first glance the lowish grades and lack of significant byproducts (Au in particular) made the project seem destined for failure. Might still but more likely because finance is too tough than the grade.
Getting free options does make exercising them easier especially IF they "are in the money". Even better if you think the long term prospects of SP increase are good with mine development shaping up as being feasible.
BOD members do have to abide by different rules than the average punter. Their buying is often considered a better signal than their selling, especially if the timing is bad.
Whatever the background to these recent additions the company has a few more needed shekels in the coffer.
