Your comments are reminding me of some stuff I've read in Peter Lynch's 'One up on Wall Street' and the idea that the retailer investor often has a lot of benefits over the big boys, including knowledge of assets which are wildly undervalued and/or misunderstood by the market. Seems that a lot of funds just won't give smaller players a look until the potential is realised more broadly. Perhaps this is the result of flying under the radar with these funds. Interesting stuff nevertheless.
