Got a response from my broker

The suspension is purely to give the lead manager time to complete the process

Often the placement can all be completed in one day and a suspension is not necessary

On this occassion my broker has indicated that it was most likley the ASX holding up the works. Quite possibly they were under the pump and weren't able to process the placement docs in a timely fashion....hence IBG having to suspend for a day

Due to the suspension all orders had to be purged but apparently prior to the purge the stock looked like it was going to open at 6.4c
